First of all, the race was particularly exciting because of the way that the race was decided. In front of a large crowd, the race took place. A large crowd of forty six thousand, eight hundred and seventy people witnessed the race.

Rags to Riches was the horse with the 2nd best odds at the derby, with odds of 4-1. The third favorite was Hard Spun, who had odds of 5-1.

Things looked very messy from the very start of the race for Rags to Riches. Very quickly, Curlin came from behind, stepping in for a close 2nd place.

The race came down to just two horses, over the last quarter of a mile. Curlin finished 2nd and Tiago managed to take third place whereas, Rags to Riches was the winner of the 2007 Belmont Stakes.
