On April26th – April 28th, 2010, in Calgary, Alberta, the Canadian Gaming Summit’s 3 day conference is scheduled to occur. This is their biggest yearly event and Calgary is hosting the event for the first time, for the Canadian gaming industry.

At this event people in the gaming industry from all over North America gather. Participants include casino owners, suppliers, industry players and people who are into internet betting.

Paul Burns, Vice President of the Canadian Gaming Commission, stated that there was a cross-section of people that are attracted to the event. Burns also said that, there are various non gaming amenities available that enhance the experience and the industry is growing. He gave spas, entertainment options, and hotels as examples.

For viewing, there will be more than 88 exhibits on display. To participate on the trade show floor, the Summit gives vendors opportunities. It also provides educational programs and social activities for employees in the gaming industry.

At the summit, most of the talk will be maximizing profits. To problem gamblers, there will be some attention drawn.

SafetyCheck will be an item on display by the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation. For gaming, this software filters websites. Because teenagers are more likely to visit the offshore websites for gaming, spokesman for the company, Margaret Mc-Gee, said that building a responsible gaming industry was their mandate.

At the event, Internet gaming will be a topic of discussion. Burns stated that on online gaming, 1 billion dollars is being spent by Canadians and all of the money is going to offshore companies.
