Tebows big target in the passing game Percy Harvin told reporters that he is feeling 100% since his heel surgery and he is ready to get plenty of touches against the Vols. In Floridas 59-20 victory last year over Tennessee, Harvin ran for 75 yards and caught 4 passes for 120 yards. Game time is 3:30PM Eastern Time with CBS televising. Florida is a 7-point road favorite over Tennessee.
6th ranked LSU will pay a visit to #10 Auburn Saturday Night at 7:45PM ET on ESPN. LSU is breaking in a set of new quarterbacks this season in Andrew Hatch and Jarrett Lee. Both have had problems throwing the ball downfield against mediocre competition and each stand a huge test against Auburns tough defense. Auburn is switching to a spread offense this season, which struggled last at Mississippi St in their 3 to 2 victory. First year starting quarterback Chris Todd completed just under 54% of his passes last week and the team was only 3 of 16 in third down conversions. Many experts expect a very close tight defensive battle Saturday night. The early money is all on LSU as the game opened a pick em and LSU is currently a 3-point road favorite.
The Georgia Bulldogs fell one spot in the AP poll this week to #3, as they get ready to face the Arizona St Sun Devils Saturday Night. The game is in primetime at 8PM Eastern to be televised nationally by ABC. This is the farthest the Bulldogs have traveled west in 48 years. Georgia is coming off a hard fought 14-7 victory at SEC rival South Carolina last week. The Bulldogs are hoping to improve play on their offensive line, which gave up 4 sacks against the Gamecocks, and did a poor job of run blocking. Arizona St fell from the top 25 after a disappointing loss to UNLV from the Mountain West last week. Sun Devil coach Dennis Erickson told reporters on Monday that he is worried how his team will handle the speed of the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia is a 7-point favorite.

Nu krijgen de spelers voor het eerst de kans om in te zetten. Met andere woorden, dit is de eerste inzet ronde of betting-round. De eerste speler die moet beslissen wat hij gaat doen, is de speler links van de big blind. Hij bekijkt eerst zijn kaarten, en heeft dan de volgende mogelijkheden:
Ten eerste : Hij beslist dat zijn kaarten niet goed genoeg zijn en niet deel te nemen aan het spel. Hij legt zijn kaarten opzij op tafel zonder dat iemand ze kan zien. Dit heet “Folden”. De speler die dus wegstapt uit het spel en zijn kaarten weggooit, foldt.
Ten tweede : Hij is tevreden over zijn kaarten en beslist deel te nemen aan het spel. Hij moet dan hetzelfde bedrag aan chips leggen als de speler aan zijn rechterkant. De big blind dus. Dit heet : “callen”.
Ten derde : Hij beslist om meer in te zetten dan het bedrag dat de big blind al had op tafel had gelegd. Dit moet minstens het dubbele zijn van het bedrag van de big blind zijn. Dit heet raisen. Iedere speler moet op zijn beurt tenminste dezelfde hoeveelheid chips op tafel leggen als zijn voorganger om in het spel te blijven.
Na iedere betting round, wordt het geld dat werd ingezet samengeraapt, en vormt het de pot, die winnaar op het einde van het spelletje binnen raapt.
Nu is het tijd voor de gemeenschappelijke kaarten. Er worden drie kaarten op de gemeenschappelijke tafel gelegd zodat iedereen ze kan zien. Dit heet de Flop. De kaarten die in het midden worden gelegd, kunnen door iedere speler worden gebruikt samen met hun twee persoonlijke kaarten om hun beste hand samen te stellen.
Nu begint de tweede betting round, die vergelijkbaar is met de eerste. Het enige verschil is dat er nu geen blinds meer liggen aangezien die al in de pot liggen. De eerste speler die nu moet spreken, is degene die in de vorige ronde op de small blind zat, dus de eerste speler links van de Dealer.
Hij heeft nu ook de mogelijkheid om te “checken”. Dit wil zeggen dat hij in het spel blijft zonder te hoeven in te zetten. Hij zal enkel de bet van een andere speler moeten evenaren als die er komt. Behalve checken kan de speler natuurlijk ook opnieuw betten als hij overtuigd is van zijn kaarten en de pot wil verhogen. De andere spelers zullen dan ofwel zijn bet moeten evenaren namelijk “callen”, ofwel de bet verhogen, namelijk “raisen”.
Na de eerste drie gemeenschappelijke kaarten (de flop) volgt de vierde kaart, de Turn. Die wordt net als de drie vorige Flop kaarten in het midden van de tafel gelegd. Zichtbaar en beschikbaar voor iedereen. Na de turn komt de volgende betting round waarin alle spelers opnieuw de kans hebben om in te zetten.
Tot slot legt de dealer de laatste kaart in het midden van de tafel, opnieuw zichtbaar en beschikbaar voor alle spelers. Die laatste kaart wordt de river genoemd. Zoals gewoonlijk volgt er nu een laatste betting round. Nu is het afgelopen en komt de “showdown”. Alle spelers die nog in het spel zitten en dus niet hebben gefold, moet nu hun beste hand maken met de 7 kaarten die ze ter beschikking hebben. Ze mogen daarvoor zowel hun pocket cards die ze zelf hebben gebruiken, als de community cards die op de tafel liggen. In totaal hebben ze dus zeven kaarten ter hun beschikking, maar het enige wat telt, zijn de vijf kaarten die ze zelf kiezen.
De overblijvende spelers laten nu hun pocket cards zien aan de rest, en de speler met de beste hand wint al het geld dat in de pot zit.
